Twenty Carlsbad-area nonprofits awarded Chevron Catalyst Grants

The Carlsbad Community Foundation awarded more than $67,000 in grants to 20 local nonprofits during a recent ceremony.

The grants, distributed through a competitive process, are designed to tackle a wide range of community needs across Carlsbad and South Eddy County.

The grant program grew out of a partnership between the Carlsbad Community Foundation and Chevron that started in 2016. Chevron provides annual funding to keep the program running and support the organizations serving the region. Foundation Board President Therese Rodriguez said the partnership allows them to help a large number of people.

“We greatly appreciate the trust that Chevron places in us and their continued support that makes this program possible,” Rodriguez said.

Juan Quintero, an operations superintendent for Chevron, said the company is proud to back the groups making a difference in the area and looks forward to seeing the positive results.

“We believe these grants will empower organizations to continue their important work, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have in Carlsbad and South Eddy County,” he said.

The 2026 Chevron Catalyst Grant recipients include AAUW Carlsbad, CARC Inc., the Carlsbad Area Art Association, the Carlsbad Battered Families Shelter, Carlsbad Cares Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, and the Carlsbad Community Theater. Also receiving funding are the Carlsbad Literacy Program, the Carlsbad Mainstreet Project, the Christian Women’s Job Corps of Carlsbad, C-Paws, the Desert Willow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, and Eddy County CASA. The list of winners is completed by Lakeview Christian Home, Living Truth Academy, Noah’s Ark Animal Refuge, Inc., the Southeast New Mexico Community Action Corporation, the Southeast New Mexico Homeschool Hub, the Southeast New Mexico Veterans Transportation Network, the Southeastern New Mexico Historical Society, and the United Way of Eddy County.
