Chevron and Texas Rangers launch 2026 grants for West Texas youth programs
The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and Chevron recently opened the application process for their 2026 Community Grants Program.
Now in its third year, this partnership continues to provide financial support to organizations dedicated to serving children and youth throughout the Permian Basin. Since the program began, it has distributed $100,000 in total funding to enhance educational and recreational resources for young people across West Texas.
For the 2026 cycle, the program will award a total of $50,000 in funding. Individual grants are expected to range between $5,000 and $25,000, with final selections made by the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation Board. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, schools, and municipalities that offer impactful programming for individuals aged 18 and under. The initiative specifically targets programs focused on educational curriculum, after-school activities, and youth sports.
Karin Morris, the head of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, said the grants provide essential community funding.
“As this partnership enters its third year, we remain committed to our mission to develop young people by supporting programs that help children grow and succeed in their respective communities,” Morris said.

The sentiment was echoed by Jonathan Harshman, public and government affairs advisor for Chevron.
“By investing in local programs focused on education, after-school opportunities and youth sports, we’re working alongside our community partners to help strengthen West Texas communities and create lasting opportunities for the next generation,” Harshman said.
Chevron has maintained a presence in the Permian Basin for over a century and produced a record 1 million barrels of oil per day in the region in 2025.
The grants are reserved for organizations operating within specific Texas counties, including Andrews, Crane, Culberson, Ector, Glasscock, Howard, Loving, Martin, Midland, Pecos, Reagan, Reeves, Upton, Ward, and Winkler. Funding cannot be used for individual grants, national organizations without local operations, or to cover team travel and tournament fees. Interested parties may submit one application per year.
The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, July 1, at 6 p.m. CT. Following a review period, the grant recipients will be announced in August 2026. Organizations can find full eligibility criteria and application details at the official foundation website. Since its founding in 1991, the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation has contributed more than $90 million toward community development and youth initiatives.
