Midland Frac-Attack becomes newest team of American Indoor Football

American Indoor Football (AIF) is growing in West Texas after adding the Midland Frac-Attack to the league this month. Owned by Trinity Investments, LLC, the team starts play in 2026 at Midland’s Horseshoe Arena. The Frac-Attack name mirrors the grit and energy of the Permian Basin’s oil and gas industry.

The team will run an independent schedule during its 2026 debut. The league features a new rivalry against the Odessa Drillers, an AIF expansion team founded in late 2025. The Drillers play at the Ector County Coliseum and also begin their first full season in 2026.

Regional football is also expanding outdoors with the Tall City Black Gold. Founded by John and Josh Norman in late 2025, the team joins the Continental Football League. Based in Midland, the Black Gold will compete in the Southern Division starting in May 2026.
